There are three huge E-Marts on Jeju within easy reach when driving (By bus it takes longer): - Seogwipo (30-40 mins from GEC), Jeju City (30-40 Mins from GEC), and TapDong (40-45 mins from GEC) Similar to your local super/hyper market back home... with a distinct Korean feel and flavour! Main department: - food, groceries, bakery, dairy, meat/pork/poultry/fish/seafood, househould goods, cleaning equipment, kitchen goods and gadgets, clothes, shoes, toiletries, beauty products, baby necessities, pet food/litter/treats, etc... You can find a number of things from overseas here. You can find 'odd' things like chia seeds here, some essential herbs and spices, salt and pepper, and even mustard and A1 sauce. The rule of thumb is "If you see it, buy it!" - it might not be there the next time you go. (eg. fresh whipping cream. It's not a commonly used item in Korea, so it is infrequently found) There is an electrical department that sells all the usual appliances (except bread makers) with a variety of price and familiar brand ranges. (FYI - the 'No Brand' range is cheap and works just as well ;-) ) This is one of those chains that falls under the SF-FS closures (Second Friday of every month, and Fourth Saturday of every month) - SFFS... think up your own acronym for that ;-) 1. in Jeju city, near Lotte Mart This store is a multileveled store with an interior multi-level carpark. There are lights on the ceiling in the car park... the red indicate a spot that is taken, and the green indicate a free parking spot. The food section is on the ground floor. The pet section is near the electronics section on level 2. Be prepared to wait for a while to use the elevator! It's a very busy store, and many people need to go the car park ;-) 2. in Seogwipo, near the football stadium A one-level warehouse sized store with two parking areas - one small out front, and one larger version up a ramp on the right. (Up on the upper level you will also find a tyre/mechanic type shop) 3. in Tapdong, near Martro This store is a multilevelled, and has a huge outdoor ground floor level carpark. It's right on the water front near Jeju harbour. Take your phone, a compass, and some snacks... you could be in there a while!
