Don't worry... It's easy, and you're going to love it!

So... you're new to Jeju... and the GEC...
Hello and welcome!
This has been compiled primarily with the new to BHA people in mind, but feel free to share this with anyone new to the GEC (Global Education City).
Check out THIS LINK to a small map of the GEC. Click on the photos to enlarge them. The information on this map is for a general idea of 'getting to know your new environment' . There are other things to explore, so go ahead... get out and about and find stuff out! Especially in the area on the map that says 'Hola' ;-)
By now, you have been assigned a 'School Buddy' to help you settle in. Think of this site as your "e-buddy" ;-)
Use this as that 'friend' who knows a fair bit about Jeju and the GEC, and who will never, ever, mind you asking the same thing a million times, any time of day or night!
Here you will find most of the things a new person might need to know when landing here, and have probably been told maybe once, maybe many times by various people... but you will have forgotten because of information overload.
LOOK TO THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THIS PAGE. IF YOU HOVER YOUR CURSOR OVER "HOME", A DROP DOWN MENU WILL APPEAR WITH SOME CHOICES FOR YOU TO EXPLORE (If you click on 'Home' you will redirected to this page). HERE YOU WILL FIND SOME USEFUL INFORMATION FOR ANY NEWCOMER TO THE GEC, AND ESPECIALLY BHA.
(The 'blog' page is just for the designers of this site to write stuff we can include as links on the 'Home' page links. Go ahead and take a look at this, but since it is no particular order, it might not make any sense to you.)
Eventually you will find your own way around, but this is just to get you going and 'in the know' at the beginning of your stay. It will help you get settled, feeling a little more independent, and mobile in the first few months.
This is not supposed to be a comprehensive, all-encompassing, how-to-be-an-expert-on-living-in-Jeju guide... it's just to get you started.
BY ALL MEANS ASK A REAL PERSON! THIS DOES NOT REPLACE THAT "HUMAN TOUCH".
This information has been compiled by many people, through referrals, first-hand experience, and just plain luck of finding stuff out. Thank you to all who contributed!
It is important to realize that things change pretty quickly around here. Something will open overnight, or close overnight, and in some cases disappear overnight! If you spot any incorrect entries, please get in touch at [email protected] and let us know.
Happy getting around!
Please... Don't assume everyone has someone to go around with. Everyone needs a friend ;-) It's not easy at the beginning.
If you think you know of someone who is being left on their own, why not ask them to go along? Ask someone to go with you anyway - build those relationships!
Also, in an effort to foster closer newbie/returning staff relationships, don't forget to include some of the returning staff in your plans ;-)
You may also want to try and meet people from the other schools in the GEC. A good place to do so is on the Jeju GEC Community Facebook page. You have to ask to join it, but then you're good to go with your first post. Check out more sites to join in the "First-things-first" link under the HOME icon at the top right hand corner of the page.
