Here you have a Korean couple who lived in Maryland, bringing you tacos, burritos and bowls of chicken, Carnita, vegetable and shrimp. It is closed on Mondays, but open pretty much all other times. You can sit in the cute little restaurant, or take away. The glass front opens up in the summer for outside seating, and they serve Magpie beer on draft, and some pretty awesome Margaritas! The owner's name is Connie Bang

, Check out this map from the "Jeju Good Eats' Facebook page. The pin is turquoise, and is in the bottom left hand corner
Or, if you kind of know your way around... Drive towards Mount SanBangSan as if you were going to the restaurant 'Zen'. Keep going till you hit the water. To go to 'Sea and Blue' you would normally turn to the right here. Instead turn left and park in the little car park there. Go up the white stairs. You've arrived! There is another entrance from the main road too. 168 Sagyenam-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju-do, South Korea. Need some plastic 'stuff'? Need some cheap and cheerful, useful 'things' for your classroom? Need a plunger for your blockages? Need some cheap plastic containers/baskets/storage?
Then Daiso is the place for you! It is the equivalent of 'The Dollar Store' in the USA, or 'Poundstretchers' in the UK. There is a fancy glass fronted Daiso building opposite Lotte Mart in Jeju City. There is also a small store in Moseulpo (Pictured below), and there are a couple more inside Lotte Marts. Japan boasts huge multi-storey versions of this tiny store, but it is still a place for bargain hunting. ;-) This is in nearby Moseulpo. Jeju Airport is an incredibly busy airport. It has numerous flights a week during tourist season, all of which are nearly always full. The flights can be incredibly cheap... but get in early.
Google "Direct flights from Jeju" Google "Flights between Jeju and Seoul" Some other things you might try: - 1. Try using Expedia to book your flights. It is a little more expensive than booking with the airlines direct, but it seems to minimize issues, such as being able to use Korean credit cards to pay for your flight (as some people have experienced), or the sites not being in a language you can understand. --------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. The school works with the Unicorn Travel Agency. They are helpful, speak English, but charge a small commission for their services. It is worth it if you are trying to figure a lot of connections out, or can't find connections. Direct contact via e-mail - [email protected] (Yeojung KIM) Website - www.flyunicorn.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Book from the airlines directly. For Example: - Jeju Air - http://www.jejuair.net/jejuair/main.jsp Asiana Airlines - http://us.flyasiana.com/C/en/main.do Korean Air - https://www.koreanair.com/global/en.html Check it out on the Jeju Good Eats Facebook page map.
(Google maps coords - 33.21962, 126.2514 ) It's the brown pin almost covered by a green one in the bottom left hand corner of the map You can get the 755 to a bus stop near the Harbour. Hong Mart is near by. You can also drive, cycle, etc... Where else would you find a Hawaiian style fish and chip shop but in Moseulpo Harbour?! (Google Maps Coords - 33.21962, 126.2514 ) The owner (Ray Cho) and his wife own two eateries side by side on the Harbour. Ray speaks English ;-) He runs the Fish and Chip shop... ... and she runs the delightful little cafe next door. All fish is fresh that day, and you can tell when you taste it. No frozen stuff here!
Recommended - Johndory Fish and Chips, Halibut fish and chips, Coconut shrimp and chips The pastries in the cafe are made on the premises too ;-) Drive towards Moseulpo, along Yeongeodosi-ro. Turn right when the road ends in a T-junction. The Smokehouse is on the right, just before you get to KIS village.
A little bit of Southern love right here on Jeju y'all! Absolutely delish!
Cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers, chilli dog, brisket, pulled pork sandwich... sigh! You will drive past the place going to and from Moseulpo, and wonder at what on earth the building that is covered in bright graffiti is. Well.. it's The Smokehouse! The entrance is on the left of the clown mouth (hidden from view by the electricity pole in this pic.) ;-) |
