Map showing the three hospitals below
The S-Jung-ang Hospital
This is where you will probably be taken to get your medical done when you arrive. If you need to make an appointment, it might be an idea to get someone from HR or a Korean friend to set it up for you. Once you are there, the doctors can usually help you make the next one, and the nursing staff are all kinds of helpful.
It is a comprehensive hospital with various clinics. Many doctors speak English here, for example the cardiologist, the knee specialist, etc.
An added bonus is that it takes the BHA medical provider card and does direct billing, so you only have to pay the co-pay fee up front for the services you receive (i.e. you don't have to claim it back, because it is already taken care of).
Parking - you can't park at the main entrance of the hospital, but there is a large car park to the side of the hospital; drive past the hospital and it takes you to the car park.
The entrance from the car park is on the ground (1st) floor. There is an elevator that will take you to: -
- the cafes (2nd floor)
- the main entrance and the reception area where the Information desk is with an English speaker, the knee specialist, and the X-ray centre (3rd floor)
- the cardiologist and where the medical checks are done (5th floor)
There are two pharmacies just opposite the hospital main entrance that you can use to get your prescription filled.
You get to it by driving to E-mart in Jeju city. Instead of turning right to go to E-mart, turn left. Go through two sets of traffic lights. After the second set look left, and you will see the hospital. Turn first left after the second lights.
